Gemma, a young mother living in her childhood home, discovers she can enter The Further—a supernatural realm—and possesses a dangerous ability to bring entities back into the real world. Her newfound power threatens to blur the line between worlds in increasingly disturbing ways.
Cindy says
Insidious finally gets a premise with real stakes and a capable director to execute it. Chase keeps the scares taut and the mythology interesting, even if the third-act pivot feels slightly rushed. Eve's grounded performance anchors what could've been silly—instead it lands as genuinely unsettling.
