A high-ranking police officer in Rome commits murder, then deliberately plants evidence against himself. Torn between his crime and his faith in the legal system, he attempts to prove that even a man of his position cannot escape justice.
Cindy says
A brilliantly twisted political thriller that uses dark irony as a scalpel. Volonté's performance is magnetic as a cop who's too clever for his own morality, and Petri orchestrates the whole thing with such precise control that you're constantly unsure whether to laugh or feel sick. Essential stuff.
